Harry Potter!

I really enjoyed reading those to and with my children. Even had a Snape friend or foe competition going. Glad these books were not banned.

Friends Down Under Bookstore

Please note that due to Covid19, we are not accepting any donations to the Friends Down Under Bookstore at this time.

The Friends Down Under Bookstore is a collection of books and media available for purchase by the public.  Funds raised from all our sales go to supporting the Grosse Pointe Public Library.

The bookstore is maintained by the Friends of the Grosse Pointe Public Library, and located in the Lower Level of the Grosse Pointe Woods Library.

Our inventory comes from two sources: Books removed from circulation by the library and books donated by generous individuals.

Our Used Book Sales are held at the Grosse Pointe Public Library Woods Branch (lower level).

    • 7 – 8 p.m. exclusive Pre-sale for Friends Members
      • New Members may join at the door

    • 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Saturday
    • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Bag Day Sale – Fill our bag for $5**
    • **Please note that the $5 Bag Sale on Saturdays does not include DVDs. Bags that are predominantly filled with DVDs will cost $10.

Friends Attend the GPPL Ground Breaking on June 30, 2020

On June 30, 2020 most of our board members were able to attend the GPPL ground breaking ceremony at the Central Branch. Pictured from left to right are: Martina Burke, Ed Allotta, Pat Nicholl, Richard Larry, Vicky Granger, Tom Peck, Jill Campbell, Donna Abdoo, and Tracy Magee. 

Many wonderful changes are happening at all three branches of the Grosse Pointe Public Library. We, the Friends of the GPPL, are happy and proud to play a part.
